     Finding a job takes thinking, hard work, patience, and time.  We’ve helped by developing a system that has worked well for us and many others.  It also will work for you!  But, you faithfully must follow our recommended procedures.  It will guide you through your search, and provide you with proven communications materials that will demonstrate to prospective employers the many benefits you'll bring to the job.  Unfortunately, there are few shortcuts to finding the right job or shifting careers.  Or, just starting out after graduating from high school, college, or a technical or vocational school.  Success in landing the right position in the end will depend upon you and your determination.
     At some time in our lives, most of us seek employment.  As secretaries.  Computer programmers.  File clerks.  Draftsmen.  Welders.  Student interns.  Executives.  Salespersons.  Or, as other types of managers.  Perhaps we have been dismissed, down-sized, or laid off, or our jobs eliminated through technological advances or work moving off-shore.  It could be we’re seeking our first job out of college or trade school.
     Or, maybe the effects of a sluggish economy were too much for our businesses, or we were stymied in dead-end jobs and wanted to move into completely new or more exciting fields.  Regardless, the negatives of being unemployed always are the same.  We need work to pay for the steadily increasing costs of food, clothing, shelter, health care, and transportation.  “Knock 3 Times” can help you find that work.  The problem is, at any one time there are hundreds of thousands – in fact millions – of other people in the same situation:  Out of work, and looking and competing for job openings.

     One of your first priorities should be finding an immediate source of income.  If you've been employed up to this point, you probably have unemployment compensation coming from your state.  Admittedly, it's a difficult thing for people who have worked hard to request unemployment.  "Go on the dole," as they say in Europe.  It's like there's a stigma attached to being laid off, down-sized, or let go.  However, while you were working you paid into a fund for this exact purpose, and now is the time to take advantage of those payments.  Swallow your pride, visit your local Department Of Labor, and sign up. It's your money, so use it to cover expenses while you're job hunting!

     The ones who find good-paying jobs know how to effectively “sell” themselves and their abilities.  They will know how to turn past accomplishments into promises of concrete benefits for the companies, organizations, or institutions hiring them.  And, they will know how to set themselves above the majority of other job applicants when they go through the interview process.
